Life and Environment serves as the umbrella organization of over 95 organizations that deal with public health, sustainable development and public participation in planning. Life and Environment focuses on empowering its member organizations in order to better influence decision-making processes, and it has assumed a leadership role in furthering the integration of issues of and sustainable development and environmental justice into the discourse of both civil society and government agencies.

Life and Environment has developed a large network of professionals who, through our Pro-Bono Net Project, support the work of grass root organizations. Our advocacy efforts in recent years generated new laws, improving the availability and accessibility of information, as well as the participation and influence of the public through environmental and social NGO’s in local and national policy making.
